Met 5 talenten uit hun eigen team en één steal trekken coaches Koen, Alex, Natalia en Bart vanaf vrijdag 19 april naar het derde stadium van The Voice van Vlaanderen, de Battles. Tijdens de voorbije 3 Knockout-afleveringen werden hun teams al stevig uitgedund, om enkel met de strafste stemmen door te gaan. “Dit seizoen zijn de Battles anders”, vindt Koen Wauters. “De betere zangers blijven over, dus de coaches zullen nóg moeilijkere keuzes moeten maken.”  

In de Battles maken de draaistoelen plaats voor een spectaculaire zangarena waarin de kandidaten met, maar ook tégen elkaar zullen zingen. Ze strijden in duo voor een felbegeerde plek in de liveshows. Slechts de helft van hen kan mee, dus de inzet is groot. Zonder steals is er bovendien geen enkel vangnet. “Het is erop of eronder voor de kandidaten. Naar huis of naar de lives: het is een heel groot verschil”, zegt Koen.
